The nursery rhyme of the old times. Of a land no one knows of except in books and movies. The only time I can in vision myself in a happy situation anymore, is in this book. I see myself in almost all the characters, Elphaba- and always alert, Fiyero- arranged marriage to someone he never knew,and very bright, Melena- having a fair share of 'friends', Turtle Heart-Falling in love with the wrong people, and Frex, oh dear Frex- always thinking everything I've done was wrong in one way or another. This book is my life, just twisted with murder and magic while this one is with arranged marriage and confusing logic.
"Lilith, are you listening to me?" Alex's firm grip on my shoulder and his husky voice got me away from my day dreaming and back to reality. " I'm sorry what?" I could tell he was agitated with me ignoring him, but he should know this by now, it's been four days since I said anything to him, the last thing I said was about my dream and that was it.
'I said your friends will be here in the evening, around say eight-o-clock. You have four hours before they get here, and I have a few questions about them.' I gave him a nod to tell him to continue,but he stared at me as if I were a cod fish out of the water. He then just shook his head and continued, 'Are they friendly? Do they take care of them selves? I know I already met them but I didn't really get to know them that well. Will they be nice to us? Are they a loud bunch? Do I sound worried? Why aren't you jumping up and down with joy?'
He finally got quiet waiting for my answers, and he had worry all over his face, just like the other day when I stopped talking. I know I hated him just five six days ago, but I have this feeling that if I don't think about him or see him I get a in my stomach and an ache in my head.
I think I need to be around him, and he has to be around me. "Yes they are friendly, yes they care of themselves, I practically kill them when they don't. They will be nice, and they are only loud when we want to be, and yes you do sound worried in fact you sound like a worried old hen and you're a man. I think since I spent so much time with him, even if I wasn't speaking, I think he feels the same pain when my absence is there, and the excitement when we're together. When I look into his eyes, I feel like he's looking into my soul,I know cliche right, but it's true. And when he touches me it feels so... Good? I don't know how else to explain it. And right now it felt like pure bliss, when I was talking he put my head on his shoulder and his atop of mine, but the best part was the his hand was intertwined with my. And that's how we stayed for hours, until it was time to get ready for my friends, and our new roommates.
-Hours Later-
I was in the dinning room helping one of the maids set the table for dinner, when I heard a doorbell ring. And that's when my heart started to pick up and the excitement rush trough me. I can see my friends again,and relive the fun times we shared, and share the experience with Alex. The time we spent together today was of nothing but silence, of his head resting on mine and rubbing small invisible circles on my hand with his thumb, while we enjoyed our last moment actually alone. Everything about those three hours were perfect.
I walked towards the door when I heard my friends come in and talking loudly might I add. The first one I saw was Kasey and Athena holding hands and..... Kissing?! The next thing I know, I am screaming as loud as I can, "I knew it! I called it! Timmy you owe my fifty bucks! I knew it!" Everyone stops and looks as if I was a moron. Then Timmy slowly comes up to me, and takes out his wallet and hands over fifty dollars. "I don't know why we even make bets about this stuff. You always win. Stupid matchmaker give me a hug!" I laugh at him and hug my gay best friend. I just love him... And his money. My three other friends come and hug me. First Kelly, who almost cried while hugging me. Then Kasey tickling me while hugging me. And lastly Athena, blushing and saying 'I hate it when you make bets on my love life.'
My friends, Alex, and I moved into the dinning room, and found the food already on our plates, and the leftovers in the middle of the table. I was the first to garb a seat,wooden doors, then Alex sat on my left and grabbed my hand under the table. Next was Athena and Kasey who sat across from us. Lastly was Timmy and Kelly who sat at the ends of the table.
The first the thing that was spoken was this.....
Kelly always bought up things that were happening before any of us new. "So, I see you two fell in love in a matter of six days. Bravo."

Her Life: Athena is in tenth grade. She was bullied a lot until Lilith came into her life. Ever since then she was loyal to Lilith. Athena had two other relationships before Kasey, and both were horrible. The first one was when her boyfriend cheated on her, and the other one was when her boyfriend told her he would never hurt and he abused her to the point she was in the hospital. (He's now in jail) It took her a lot of time to finally trust Kasey and date him. Athena is a very happy, outgoing person and is loyal to her friends and family.

His Life: Kasey is a eleventh grader. He is the oldest of the group, and feels like he should protect them. Kasey is a very strong minded person, and he is stubborn and a totally fun person. He was into drugs, then he met Lilith or set him straight and introduced him to Athena. When he was in drugs he did some stupid mistakes but has recovered from them. He overdosed twice, and both times the only people by him were his friends. His mom died when he was six, and he never knew his dad so he lived with his Uncle until he was 16 and got emancipated.

Kelly had a very bad home life until Lilith came in a helped her. Lilith put her dad in jail,solid wooden doors, and Kelly then moved in with her Aunt down the street from Lilith. Ever since then they were best friends. Kelly will do anything for her friends even when she is mad. She is a very loud, loyal person who has a bad temper. Her and Kasey don't get along very well, because when he was in drugs they did somethings that he regrets, but she doesn't. (You get to find out what it was later!)

His Life: Timmy is also a tenth grader and loves his friends. Lilith and Timmy are best friends because they both became friends when they both stuck up for each other. Lilith told some jocks to shove it up their ass when they were making fun of him for being gay. Then the next day some girls (preppy ones) were making fun of Lilith for being different and Timmy stuck up for her and said some words that I don't know of yet. Timmy is very flamboyant, loyal,wood doors, nice, hot headed, and fun as hell. He gets a long with everyone!

When I was a kid, I had few or no friends. I had some people who tolerated hanging around with me for a short while, but none that I'd call a best friend. When people talk about friends who are like family, like say on Buffy, where her friends became her family, I always felt a sense of loss, because I've never had that.
